Quality Policy

What we commit to on every job, what we measure, and what we will tell you when something goes wrong.

1. Our commitment

Astratech Solutions builds wire harnesses and cable assemblies to customer drawings. Our commitment is narrow and specific: the assembly you receive matches the drawing you sent, and we can show that it does.

We would rather ask a question before quoting than make an assumption and discover it at first article.

2. What we do on every job

  • We read the drawing before quoting, and come back with questions rather than assumptions.
  • We build to the acceptance class agreed at quotation. Where none is agreed, we build and inspect to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2.
  • We measure crimp height and sample pull-force against the contact manufacturer’s published figures. The crimp is the joint that fails in the field, so it is checked, not assumed.
  • We test continuity and pin-out on 100% of assemblies before dispatch — not on a sample.
  • We do not substitute a specified part without written approval.
  • We record cable and contact lot numbers against the job, so a field question three months later has an answer.

3. What we measure

A policy that commits to nothing measurable is decoration. We track:

MeasureWhat it tells us
Electrical test pass rate at first testWhether the build process is in control
First-article approval rateWhether we are reading drawings correctly
On-time delivery against confirmed dateWhether our lead times are honest
Customer-reported defects per thousand assembliesWhat our inspection is missing
Time to close a complaintWhether we respond or merely acknowledge

4. When something goes wrong

Defects happen in manufacturing. What distinguishes suppliers is what happens next.

  • We tell you, rather than waiting to be asked.
  • We contain the issue — quarantine stock, check other assemblies from the same lot.
  • We establish the root cause, and tell you what it was in plain terms.
  • We change the process, not just the part, and tell you what changed.

5. Improvement

This policy is reviewed annually. Where a customer’s sector requires a formal quality management system, we will say plainly whether we hold that certification rather than implying it. What we currently build to is listed on the Standards section of our site.
